Cargo lithium battery UN38.3 (UNDOT) detection
To ensure air transport safety, and meet customer demand for transport of lithium batteries containing the goods, in accordance with the relevant provisions of the IATA "Dangerous Goods Regulations", and to develop a rechargeable lithium practices that UN38.3 (UNDOT) test .
Product Range
Lead-acid batteries (lead-acid batteries such as car boot, stationary lead-acid batteries, small VRLA batteries, etc.)
Various power secondary battery (such as battery-powered cars, electric road vehicle vehicle battery, power tools battery, hybrid battery, etc.)
All kinds of mobile phone batteries (lithium ion batteries, lithium polymer batteries, nickel hydrogen batteries, etc.)
A variety of small secondary battery (such as laptop batteries, digital camera batteries, camcorder batteries, a variety of cylindrical battery, wireless battery, portable DVD battery, CD and MP3 players, batteries, etc.)
All kinds of primary batteries (such as alkaline manganese batteries, lithium manganese batteries, etc.)
UN38.3 test project
T.1 height simulation test
Under pressure ≤11.6kPa, 20 ± 5 ℃ temperature conditions.
T.2 heat test
Carried out under conditions of 75 ± 2 ℃ and -40 ± 2 ℃ high and low temperature impact test, stored in extreme temperatures time ≥6h, high and low temperature conversion time ≤30min, the impact of 10 times at room temperature (20 ± 5 ℃) storage 24h, The total test time at least one week
T.3 vibration test
Within 15min to complete a reciprocal logarithmic sweep sinusoidal vibration within 3h to complete the three-dimensional directions 12 times the vibration from 7Hz to 200Hz;
T.4 impact test
150g, 6ms or 50g, 11ms half-sine shock, mounting direction three times each, a total of 18 times;
T.5 external short circuit test
At 55 ± 2 ℃, external resistance <0.1Ω short-circuit conditions, short time until the battery temperature has returned to 55 ± 2 ℃ after 1h.
T.6 collision test
9.1kg weight from 61 ± 2.5cm height have put down in a 15.8mm rod cells, the detection surface of the battery temperature.
T.7 overcharge test
2 times the maximum continuous charge current and two times the maximum charge voltage conditions, the battery charge 24h.
T.8 forced discharge test
Battery linked 12V DC power, the maximum discharge current to forcibly discharge.
Testing to determine eligibility criteria
(A) in the test T.1 to T.6, no fire or disintegration.
(B) in the test T.1, T.2 and T.5, the effluent is not toxic, flammable or corrosive substances.
(A) visual observation not seen or exhaust leakage.
(B) not lead to weight loss than those shown in 38.3.4.7.1 or exhaust leakage.
(C) in the test T.3 and T.6, the effluent is not toxic or corrosive substances.
(A) visual observation not seen or exhaust leakage.
(B) not lead to weight loss than those shown in 38.3.4.7.1 or exhaust leakage
Packing
1, unless the installation of the device (such as installation in mobile phones, cameras, radios, laptop computers, etc.), cells and primary batteries must be packed separately to prevent short circuits and packed in strong outer packaging.
2, unless installed in equipment, each package containing more than 24 if the primary battery or batteries 12, must also meet the following requirements:
1) Each package must be marked with a legend containing lithium batteries and special measures should be taken by the broken pieces of packaging.
2) Each consignment must have random file will be described lithium batteries and special measures should be taken by the package damaged package is equipped.
3) Each package must be able to withstand any of the 1.2m drop test without damage to the battery or battery element within the package, which does not change the location of the battery as well as battery and battery (or primary cells and primary batteries) each contacts, there is no leakage from the battery package.
4) Unless the lithium battery is installed in the device, or the gross weight of each package must not exceed 30kg.
Conditions
Delivery of lithium batteries and lithium batteries if they meet all of the following conditions may be non-restricted items (non-dangerous goods) transport. If any of the following conditions can not be met, it should UN3090 or UN3091 dangerous goods transport operators request
(A) restrictions on lithium content
1, for primary lithium metal or lithium alloy batteries, lithium content shall not exceed 1g; for lithium-ion primary battery equivalent lithium content is not more than 1.5g.
Note: The original batteries do the battery, also known as the core.
2, lithium metal or lithium alloy batteries, lithium content is not more than a total 2g, lithium ion battery lithium-equivalent content is not more than 8g.
Note: The above "lithium content" means the amount of lithium metal or lithium alloy cell having an anode of metallic lithium. As for the lithium-ion battery, "lithium equivalent content" is calculated in grams multiplied by 0.3 is based on the rated capacity in ampere-hours.
For example: a cell phone lithium-ion battery is rated capacity 800mah (800 mAh), then the "equivalent lithium content" as: 0.3 X 0.8 (ampere-hour) = 0.24 g.
(B), in line with UN testing requirements
Each type of primary cells and batteries, has been tested and found to comply with "UN Transport of Dangerous Goods Manual of Tests and Criteria" all the requirements of section 3 of paragraph 38.3.
